Advances in connectivity are improving passenger experience and offering aircraft owners better ROI (return on investment). Chris Moore, Chief Commercial Officer, SD, told us more about this.

When it comes to innovation for commercial airlines and business aircraft, connectivity has been the big thing over the last two decades. We’ve moved from simply being able to use a mobile phone on-board to enabling connectivity right across the aircraft – passengers want to access their content and use their devices as they would on the ground.

Advances in connectivity are also improving business ROI (return on investment) on the cost of an aircraft and improving safety through data capture and digitization.

“It’s all become about the depreciation of the asset. The aircraft is now like a flying IP node on a network…We can actually increase the value of the jet over time and smooth out its depreciation for the owner.”
