Move will enable engineering and technology consultancy to grow headcount and be closer to key clients including Rolls-Royce

Alten Group has opened new offices in Derby in a move which will bring them closer to key aerospace clients.

The new base will enable the firm to grow its headcount and pre-empts a recruitment drive for 150 new hires. The Group, which is headquartered in France, has moved into its new base in Pride Park, which it has dubbed ‘The Hive’. The company has a presence in more than 25 countries, employing around 34,000 staff.

Year-on-year growth of 80 per cent

Alten Group supports customer development strategies within the areas of innovation, research and development and information systems. The company has seen year-on-year growth of 80 per cent in the past five years. It is a close partner of Rolls-Royce, which has its Civil Aerospace and Defence divisions within Derby, with more than 100 of its consulting engineers involved in aircraft engine-related activities.

Alten Group has been also been  developing partnerships with other key manufacturers in the Derby area within the aerospace, rail and agricultural machinery sectors including Bombardier Transportation.

A statement by the firm said: “To support its growth, Alten is hiring in the aerospace sector. The railway sector is also boosting its teams in the areas of project engineering, validation and verification and systems engineering. The positions are mainly for engineers with a Master’s degree and up to 10 years’ experience.”
