Cirrus Aircraft has announced the launch of the next generation of the Vision Jet, the ‘G2’.

Cirrus says the G2 will enhance performance, comfort and safety for the world’s first single-engine personal jet.

The G2’s range will be over 1,200 nautical miles, with a top cruise speed above 300kts.

New features

The aircraft will feature increases in cruise altitude, speed and range alongside a newly upgraded Garmin Perspective Touch Plus flight deck.

It will also incorporate technologies unique to the G2, including a category-first Autothrottle, which integrates with the autopilot and can automatically adjust the aircraft’s speed for each phase of flight, reducing workload and giving the pilot more time to focus on other tasks.

Flight Stream connectivity enables connectivity between a personal mobile device and the flight deck, for flight plan transfers, database updates, text messaging and more.

Cabin upgrades include new executive seats, noise reduction and a ‘passenger productivity console’.

“Relentless innovation”

Pat Waddick, President, Innovation & Operations, said: “The Cirrus Aircraft story is one of relentless innovation. Much like the last 20 years of re-imagining the SR Series with constant improvements to performance, safety and comfort, the G2 Vision Jet is the culmination of that same spirit of innovation. This aircraft is yet another game-changer in personal aviation and it’s made possible by the world-class team we have at Cirrus Aircraft.”

The Vision Jet received FAA certification in 2016 and has been delivered to over 100 customers around the world.

Cirrus says deliveries of the G2 Vision Jet will begin this month.
