Eviation’s Alice is turning heads for its innovation – we talk to Omer Bar-Yohay, CEO and Co-Founder, Eviation Aircraft.

Alice is the first all-electric commuter aircraft, Eviation Aircraft says. It’s a nine-seat, two-crew aircraft that can travel around 650 miles on a single charge, at 240 knots.

“It’s the equivalent of turboprop performance on an all-electric,” Bar-Yohay said. “It’s a battery aircraft, no hybrid.”

Regional transportation

He added: “And the uniqueness about it, besides the fact that looks great, is that this is going to be the cheapest direct operating costs aircraft ever built for this size category. We’re at roughly $200 a flight hour. That’s a roughly a fifth of the cost of the equivalent turboprop.

“And we believe this is not only the future of regional flight; we believe this is the future of regional transportation as a whole.”
