At Paris Air Show, CAE unveiled its first Pilot Outlook. The research found that 255,000 new airline pilots (70 pilots a day) will be needed over the next 10 years, and 50% of the pilots who will fly the world's commercial aircraft in 10 years have not yet started to train.
“Planning is going to be important,” Leontidis said. “These pilots don’t exist; they need to be created and that requires lead time.”
In this video, he discusses the scale of the issue and some of the new approaches airlines are taking.
